Make Going to Work the Best Part of Your Day!

Find Out How and Make New Friends at our upcoming event; Afternoon Tea for Moms

By Michele Pullo, Publisher and Editor of Macaroni Kid Longmont (Covering Longmont, Niwot, Frederick/Firestone, Lyons and Mead) June 5, 2019

It was a big blue house with white trim.  I remember how welcoming it felt when you walked in.  I remember nap time so clearly; the windows would fog up when it was warm and toasty inside and cold and rainy outside.  I remember playing outside on the swing while singing away!  There are times that I can’t remember where I put my earrings last week, but somehow, I clearly remember the feeling of being in that pre-school when I was 4 years old.

As a Macaroni Kid publisher, I come across moms looking for childcare all the time.  They want a place where their children will be safe, comfortable and happy!  There is definitely a need for quality in-home childcare.

Some of the benefits of a home-based childcare program include;

  • a “homey” environment that helps a child feel safe and comfortable
  • limited number of children per teacher (and a consistent teacher)
  • siblings can be together given multi-age environments
  • plenty of “learn through play” opportunities

I was recently introduced to MyVillage.  A local company that helps moms (you don’t HAVE to be a mom) start their own thriving childcare business.   I think the idea is genius.  You know you love kids, but do you know how to run a business?  Would you even know where to start?

I had an opportunity to sit down with one of the founders of MyVillage, as well as several of their mentors.   Yes, mentors!   I love this part; they match you with your own mentor to guide you step-by-step through the process of licensing, creating your website, deciding on the best curriculum and so much more!  I learned that they are helping moms make money while they stay home with their own kids!

What blew me away was the cost.  There are NO upfront fees!  You pay them a small percentage once you start making money.  They even build you a website (with professional photography) and help you with marketing to help fill your program with families.   They also work with existing childcare businesses that could use additional help with billing, tax support, digital communication, a website, and many of the operational pieces that, when in place, make a business a success.

Join me on Thursday, June 13th from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, for a special free event with MyVillage!  If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to start your own home-based childcare business, or if you know someone who would be great at it, we’d love to have you!  To celebrate the partnership between Macaroni Kid and MyVillage, the first 10 people to sign up will receive a Swag Bag valued at $50! AND you’ll be entered to win a $250 Target Gift Card!

I’ll have tea, coffee and tasty treats to enjoy, plus we’ll get some quality mommy time in while your kids hang out at the beautiful, new FAMILY VILLAGE in Longmont!  Don’t worry about childcare, we’ve got you covered!
